About Breath of Light

Breath of Light is an oil pastel painting on gallery wrap stretched canvas. The entire painting is made up of soft pinks, peaches, creams and yellows and features the face of a beautiful woman. I originally came up with the idea for the painting in April 2007 but the finished work was even better than what I had imagined. It inspired me to plan a series of paintings called "Senses and Elements" of which Breath of Light is the first.

I finished the piece in May 2007 in one sitting after painting into the early morning hours. It took about 7 hours to complete. The edges of the canvas are painted yellow.

Breath of Light has been on display at the Shaw Conference Centre and in a juried exhibition at the Oil Pastel Society. A giclee print of Breath of Light was donated to Habitat for Humanity in June 2007.

Breath of Light is available as an Open Edition Giclee Print on canvas and a Signed Open Edition Art Print on Cougar paper.
