About Celestial Body
Celestial Body is a fantasy oil pastel painting on gallery wrap stretched canvas. The subject is a beautiful woman with dark brown eyes and black hair wearing only a headdress. She's surrounded by the deep velvety blues and twinkling pink and white stars of deep space. Celestial Body has been described as "sexy", "seductive", and "exotic". While I understand why she is seen as a seductress or a femme fatale, I personally look at her as being vulnerable as well as sensual.
Celestial Body was completed in 2005 and took about 30 hours to paint. The edges of the canvas are painted black.
