About Efflorescence
Efflorescence is a large oil pastel painting on gallery wrap stretched canvas. It features a beautiful woman arching her back in the embrace of purple and white flowers and dark green vines. The word "efflorescence" refers to the time and process of blossoms budding and unfolding and struck me as the perfect title for this piece.
I painted it in 2005 and it took approximately 60 hours to complete. The edges of the canvas are painted black.
A limited editon giclee print of Efflorescence was donated to the Kamloops Art Gallery as part of their 19th Annual Art Auction. Efflorescence has also been on display at the Art Gallery of Alberta (formerly Edmonton Art Gallery) and the Shaw Conference Centre and has been in a juried exhibition at the VAAA Gallery.
