Veiled Innocence Painting Details
About Veiled InnocenceVeiled Innocence is an oil pastel painting on rose Canson Mi-Teintes pastel paper. I used pinks and light yellows to create her pale complexion. For her eyes, I used deep greens, bright blues, and touches of yellow resulting in a striking contrast between her soft pink lips and her dramatically made up eyes. Veiled Innocence has been described as "pure", "innocent", "beautiful", and "gentle". It was started and finished in March of 2006 and took about 20 hours to complete. The painting is based on a photograph by Peter Morneau taken for a Justina McCaffrey Haute Couture advertising campaign. Veiled Innocence was a Paint Spot Selection during the 2007 Whyte Avenue Art Walk and has been displayed at the Fringe Art Gallery and the Shaw Conference Centre. Prints of Veiled InnocenceVeiled Innocence has been released as a Limited Edition Canvas Giclee Print and an Art Card.
